Years 5 and 6 | Creative Writers

Published Monday 30 September 2024

At Bunscoill Rhumsaa, our pupils thrive in their creative writing journey, embracing a dynamic writing process that inspires imagination and self-expression. Recently, our Year 6 pupils engaged in a captivating project where they wrote letters home as if they were World War II evacuees, immersing themselves in historical perspectives while developing their narrative skills. Meanwhile, our Year 5 pupils collaborated to create a newspaper article about the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, honing their ability to convey information in an engaging format. These photographs capture just some moments of creativity and learning, showcasing how our teachers guide pupils through brainstorming ideas, planning narratives, and revising their work. This creative writing process not only enhances their literacy skills but also encourages them to explore their thoughts and feelings, ultimately nurturing a lifelong love for storytelling.
