At Bunscoill Rhumsaa, we want children to feel comfortable and safe while they learn and play. For this reason, we kindly ask that jewellery is not worn in school. The only exception is for children who have their ears pierced.

To help keep everyone safe, large earrings and hoops aren’t allowed. Stud earrings may be worn, but children must be able to remove them for PE, Games and swimming lessons. If earrings cannot be removed because they are newly pierced, they should be covered for these activities.

  • For PE/Games, plasters or micropore tape work well and should be brought from home.
  • For swimming, a band that covers the ears must be worn.

Children are welcome to wear a watch if they wish, but they’ll need to be able to look after it themselves.

Thank you for helping us keep our pupils safe, comfortable and ready to enjoy their learning!
