Our 'Beachcombers' in Year 2 are busy observing, labelling and classifying different types of seaweed according to its different characteristics - one group seems to be Fronds Reunited! They've found out about seaweed, looking at and handling different types collected at the beach, discussed ways in which they could sort the different types, considering criteria such as colour, wrinkled fronds and where it was found. And on top of that, they have also looked closely, drawing and labelling their observable properties and discussed how seaweed is suited (adapted) to live in harsh coastal environments - what an excellent topic!
