At Bunscoill Rhumsaa we build our teaching and learning programme around the Cornerstones Curriculum. The Cornerstones Curriculum is based on four cornerstones; Engage, Develop, Innovate and Express. It is a broad and balanced knowledge and skills based curriculum which allows us to be as flexible and creative as we like, meaning we can react quickly to local or global events and tailor topics and lessons to our own community context.
Each lesson is linked to an essential skill and mapped against our programme of study, while each topic has a strong literacy core running through it. This allows children the opportunity to use reading, writing and language skills in all areas of the curriculum.
