Our Year 6 children have been thoroughly enjoying their learning in the Frozen Kingdom topic, where they are developing a strong understanding of the Arctic and Antarctic regions. Through careful research, the children explored key geographical features, extreme climates and the fascinating wildlife that inhabits these environments. They're also investigating significant historical events and figures connected to polar exploration. It's lovely to see their growing confidence in using subject‑specific vocabulary and selecting relevant information to explain their learning clearly and accurately.
Here are just some of the final pieces of work, which we think reflect the children’s enthusiasm, independence and pride in their learning. They showed excellent research skills, organised information thoughtfully and presented it in a clear, engaging way for an audience. Great care was taken with layout, illustrations and presentation, resulting in high‑quality outcomes that showcase both knowledge and creativity. This excellent topic provides a valuable opportunity for Year 6 to develop important skills in research, communication and presentation - which goes a long way in preparing them well for future learning challenges.
