Our Year 2 children had an amazing day at Milntown for their latest Forest School session! Despite the chilly weather, the sun shone as the group explored the beautiful woodland and tackled a festive challenge: using palm drills to create holes in wooden discs, ready to transform into terrific Christmas decorations to take home.
It wasn’t an easy task, but the children showed incredible teamwork, resilience, and perseverance as they worked together to succeed. We were also fortunate to have fantastic support from parents and grandparents, which made the day even more special.
Forest School provides so many benefits for primary-aged children: it builds confidence, encourages problem-solving, and develops practical skills in a natural setting. It also promotes wellbeing, teamwork, and a lifelong love of the outdoors - values we cherish at Bunscoill Rhumsaa. What a wonderful way to combine creativity, challenge, and festive fun!
