The Broken Heart!

Published Tuesday 23 March 2021

It was a real treat to see our Year 6 pupils enjoying some classic poetry this morning! As part of their current topic 'Blood Heart', they've been analysing the poem 'The Broken Heart' by John Donne, discussing the imagery of a broken heart and the use of personification - really wonderful, ambitious, challenging learning to which our pupils have risen superbly! From our programme of study, they've been identifying appropriate selection and use of grammar and vocabulary, discussing how such choices can change and enhance meaning - very well done!
