From Reception to Year Six - A Writing Journey!

From those first steps making marks in Reception through to being inspired by classic literature in Year 6, it is a joy to see how our children develop their writing through the years. Starting with a systematic synthetic phonics program in Reception and continuing with a curriculum which has literacy at its heart, our pupils learn to write for all sorts of purposes, as you can see in the photos! From poetry and stories to reports and investigations, writing for different audiences allows our children to apply their literacy skills independently so that we can be sure that their learning is sticking!
