Our Year 6 children really took a step up with 'Sketch Up' yesterday, developing and practising their 3D graphic design skills under the watchful and expert eye of Mr Townsend - and as you can see, they managed to produce some terrific stuff! Taking our World War 2 topic 'A Child's War' as a starting point, Mr Townsend challenged our children to use the 3D design program Sketch Up to design Anderson Shelters. It's a tricky task, but as you can see in the pictures our children will always rise to a challenge!
This activity blends in superbly with the topic, as the children will be learning about how and why Andersons shelters were used, learning to empathise with the hopes and fears of children (and grown ups) from the time, as well as learning why nations were fighting and why child evacuees had to make the long journey from their homes and families into unknown territory.
