Our new Reception children have wasted no time at all getting started with their phonics lessons! All three classes are off to a brilliant start and are really enjoying these fantastic sessions. At Bunscoill Rhumsaa we use a multi-sensory approach to teach systematic synthetic phonics, using the excellent Monster Phonics programme which begins in Reception and supports our children until the end of Year Two - or for as long as they need it! With daily lessons, excellent resources and a companion reading scheme which is perfectly aligned to the programme, our amazing Reception team are able to make sure our children get off to the best possible start to their literacy development.
