Year 5 | Trip To Castle Rushen

Our Year 5 children enjoyed a fantastic day out this week as they enjoyed the sights and sounds of Castle Rushen! This was a great way to complement our 'Off With Her Head!' topic - Year 5 learned all about the importance of the Stanley family, the Lords of Mann, who owned Castle Rushen, and their involvement in helping Henry Tudor become the first Tudor Monarch. In addition the children found out all about the magnificent landmark Castle Rushen Clock that was presented to the Island by Queen Elizabeth I, and took part in a whole range of exciting activities, from dancing and baking to traditional quill making!
