In Year 6, our children are investigating electricity against the backdrop of their topic 'Revolution!', a fascinating journey through the Victorian age - a time when great minds thought new thoughts and ingenious inventors created so many things that we take for granted today: the electric light bulb, the telephone and the first flushing toilet! Our children start by learning about batteries and how they work. They then work in groups to produce a range of different circuits, series and parallel, and introducing switches and bulbs, resistors and more as they record their observations and make careful scientific drawings. It's a great project for our wonderful bright sparks in Year 6 - they're buzzing about their learning!
