Our Year 6 children are making great progress through their current topic, 'Blood Heart'. It's a fascinating, important project which enables our pupils to learn about healthy hearts, circulation, the function of blood cells and much more through a scientific, creative and artistic approach. Scientific knowledge, beautiful conceptual artwork and terrific presentation abound as the children are learning so much, in line with our key curriculum goals, including; understanding that the circulatory system in animals transports oxygen, water and nutrients around the body; understand that in conceptual art, the idea or concept behind a piece of art is more important than the look of the final piece; recognise the impact of diet, exercise, drugs and lifestyle on the way their bodies function; take measurements, using a range of scientific equipment, with increasing accuracy and precision, taking repeat readings when appropriate.
